Zelenskyy Urges Donald Trump to Take a Strong Posture on Russia

As part of a new conversation on an international media outlet, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that American leader Trump must adopt a “clear position” regarding the Russian government, including sanctions and assurances of safety for Ukraine.
The Ukrainian head of state remarked that this represents the missing piece to move forward diplomatic discussions and encouraged the US President to take “strong personal steps” to “stop Putin”.
Additionally, Zelenskyy expressed hope that UK Prime Minister Starmer could gain greater insight from Trump during his diplomatic journey to the UK, which begins tonight.

In a separate development, US Secretary of State Rubio informed journalists in Israel that President Trump would “probably” have discussions with Zelenskyy again during next week’s UN General Assembly in NYC.
“The efforts will continue. Should peace be attainable, he aims to accomplish it,” Marco Rubio stated.
